With Shark Week<\/em> <\/a>starting this year on July 7, I thought it might be fun to design a pair of easy to sew cute as can be shark softies <\/a>for you to make for or with your kids, grandkids or students. Jonny and Jenny go everywhere together and it’s not easy to snap a quick pic of them in the deep blue sea. But there they are in the photo below! Jonny’s the fellow above and Jenny’s the pretty lass below. And don’t tell me that sharks aren’t pink. Jenny is <\/em>pink and loving it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These shark softies are also great hand sewing projects for teachers to make with their classes for World<\/em> Oceans Day<\/em><\/a>, Sea Week<\/a><\/em>, Shark Awareness Day<\/a><\/em> or any of the many other ocean awareness days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like all my zenki softies<\/a>, Jonny and Jenny are made from felt, which means, they don’t need to be turned right side out, and they only need a simple running stitch around the torso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ok, back to our sharks<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s pretty obvious from the above pic that Jonny and Jenny are “into each other”. They even have their own ballad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonny and Jenny met on a reef,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

white waves above, bright corals beneath,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

when Jonny saw Jenny glide from the blue,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

everything changed and became strangely new.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jenny was shy but Jonny\u2019s heart breathed,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCome with me lass and we\u2019ll travel the seas\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jonny and Jenny gave little thought,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

to where they were going or what others sought,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

all that they cared for, was that they\u2019d be,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

swimming together forever and free.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
