It&#8217;s with Jen Shuart.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Classroom Sewing Tips from Teachers for Teachers #2\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hdTdmufK1ow?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Jen was trained as a preschool teacher but now works as a librarian in <em>the Children&#8217;s Room<\/em> at the Ansonia Public Library, Conneticut, USA and feels very blessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Organising the Workshop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>She organised a sewing workshop at the library and chose <a href=\"https:\/\/sewasoftie.com\/2023\/01\/easy-to-sew-rabbit-soft-toy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Skater Rabbit Zenki<\/a> as the project. I loved the way Jen broke the sewing down into simple steps the kids could master. Apparently, the kids <em>loved<\/em> their needle threaders. When the kids&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=c7oQfYXqF4M&amp;t=25s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">running stitches<\/a> occasionally turned into over-the-edge stitches, she  encouraged the kids to keep going and re-envisioned the wayward stitches as adding character to their softie. I think Jen&#8217;s approach works wonders on kid&#8217;s confidence: they cease to be afraid of making mistakes and that frees them up to create amazing softies.
