I love teaching children to sew and hope you will too. I’ve tried to make everything here as clear and simple as possible. Learning to sew is one of the most exciting skills your kids will learn. Teaching kids to sew can be daunting. It can be chaos when you have 20 or more kids all needing help. But after 25 years of teaching, I still find it exciting and rewarding to see the pride on their faces when they sew something they really love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I walk you through the basic supplies you’ll need to sew with your kids<\/a> and how to decide which supplies are the ‘right’ ones to buy. I’ll talk about what needles work best with kids and why. Different ways to thread a needle. Should you use pins or sewing clips? What is a good thread to use? Different types of felts. What sorts of stuffings are available and what scissors work best when you need to cut fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n
