This \u00a0two-toned fringed heart cushion<\/strong> aims to be simple and elegant, and might just make the perfect gift for kids to make for mum this Mother’s Day.<\/p>\n

Over the last year or so I’ve been giving quite a few family workshops. I’ve found that a lot of people who can’t sew \u00a0feel very intimidated at the thought of sewing something by themselves or with their kids. This has motivated me to design a variety of projects that require only two squares of felt. I’ve got to say it’s been a lot of fun and even I have been surprised at how much you can do with such a simple brief.<\/p>\n

This fringed heart cushion<\/strong> is one of these designs.<\/p>\n

What you need<\/strong><\/h3>\n

30cm X 30cm square of pink felt<\/a><\/p>\n

30cm X30cm square of purple felt<\/a><\/p>\n

Needle<\/a><\/p>\n

Pins<\/a><\/p>\n

Thread<\/p>\n

Polyester fiberfill<\/a><\/p>\n

What to do<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Place the pink square on top of the purple square. Draw a heart shape onto the pink square. Pin the squares together. Sew a running stitch<\/a> around the heart leaving an 8cm opening for stuffing.<\/p>\n

Stuff with polyester fiberfill and sew the opening closed.<\/p>\n

Cut fringes around the heart and trim to desired length. And now you can decorate your cushion with ribbons, bows, pom poms or any other fun decorations!<\/p>\n
