That&#8217;s just a fact. I&#8217;ve witnessed this again and again over 20 years of holding hand sewing classes and workshops for children. And to get people, (mums, I&#8217;m thinking especially of you), to realise that they <em>can<\/em>\u00a0sew all sorts of amazing really simple really creative projects with their children, I am hereby declaring July 16, 2016 the inaugural World Sew-a-Softie Day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sewasoftie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/sew-a-softie-day.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-4797\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4797 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/sewasoftie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/sew-a-softie-day.jpg\" alt=\"kids sewing projects sew-a-softie day\" width=\"680\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sewasoftie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/sew-a-softie-day.jpg 680w, https:\/\/sewasoftie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/sew-a-softie-day-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>From the beginning of July 2016 people all over the world will be running simple hand sewing softie-making workshops or posting \u00a0softie tutorials online. And hopefully some people will just make a hand sewn softie with their kids and post the results online. So far I have people participating from England, Ireland, the USA, Israel, and of course, here on my home turf in Australia.
